New rules on tyres make tomorrow's race in Turkey a really tough call

I have a tough job on my hands: not my broadcast for the Beeb (though it often has its moments!) but this preview for the Turkish Grand Prix. Why? Well, because of the new bike and tyre rules.

The new, more nimble 2007 machines have reduced engine capacity (from 990cc to 800cc) and have never visited the superb track in Istanbul; this alien relationship has a knock-on effect on the tyre manufacturers who now have to supply the tyre choices on a Thursday evening before the teams have turned a wheel. This is the first real "unknown" race this season as tests were conducted at the opening rounds in Qatar and Jerez.
